Off Key Karaoke

We've got two great new years parties going on tonight.  For those on the west side of town, stop by Tricky Dick's and ring in the new year with Sissy and have fun at their "Pimps and Hoes" night!

For those by the beach, Southern Comfort is the place to be.  SoCo will still be having a New Years Eve Party but will not be charging $50/person. There will be no cover for the entire night and a free buffet will be ready at 9 p.m. Champagne will also be complimentary when the ball drops, along with a fireworks show to follow. Any of you who were fortunate enough to SoCo's 3rd (yes the 3rd) firework display, you know the sheriffs or fire department will definitely be stopping by. So even if you have other plans for midnight, stop by for some free food and some fine singing.

We've been at SoCo now for quite a while.  In that time, we've made some great friends and have had a great time.  But, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.  So this week will be the last week for Off Key Karaoke at Southern Comfort.  Franke-o-ke will be taking over begining with the new year. So make sure to come on out and help us make these last few shows ones to remember as we celebrate the new year and make sure to check with SoCo and Franke-oke for any possible changes in schedule or showtimes.

Thursday

Southern Comfort:  Hang out with Aimee out at Southern Comfort in Pompano Beach.  The food and drink are great and the Karaoke can't be beat!

Friday:

Southern Comfort:  Again, Southern Comfort is the place to be for Friday Night Karaoke!

Saturday - Two great choices for Karaoke!:

Goobs Grille and Bar:  Join Aimee and the Goobs regulars for a great karaoke night.

Southern Comfort:  Greg will be hosting at Southern Comfort Saturday night so if you like the beach atmosphere, come out and join him and the gang at SoCo for a great night of Karaoke.

Sunday (New Years Eve)

We have two great shows for you on New Years Eve!

If you don't already know the full story with my sister:

This benefit is for MY sister Jenny and her children Paige and Dean. It's THIS Thursday, it's a weeknight, if you don't have anything planned, please go & bring as many friends as you can!

On October 27th 2006 my sister's husband was brutally attacked by two teenage boys. They took a baseball bat and brick to his head and body and left him for dead. With a blood clot and chipped bone on his brain, he had surgery and will be recovering for the next couple of years.

I went to England the first week of November to see Chris (my brother in law) and try and help my sister as much as I could. Chris has been the sole provider for the family, and now with his accident he cannot be. The neighborhood they live in isn't a good one at all, before this happened, they could afford to live there.

Before Chris's accident, he was a recovering alcoholic. When he used to drink (13 years ago) he was angry & violent. He became sober once they had their children and became a wonderful father and husband.

The accident changed things. After approximately a month of hospitalization, the NHS felt it necessary to release him. As of now, he is confused and disorientated as to where he is and who everyone is in relation to him. Because of his confusion, he thinks he is still a drinker. His violent temperament has come back, and so he is being kept at a distance from his wife and children until he recovers. They say it will take a couple of years for him to fully recover.

With my sister jobless and with two children, she cannot afford to stay where she is. She has juvenile arthritis, an under-active thyroid and a few other medical conditions that keep her from working. Chris's family are looking after Chris, and that is all they can do.

My parents are pulling together with me to scrape every penny we earn to get my sister & children over here for the holidays. They can be with loved ones who will do anything for them. As of now, we are all trying to raise enough money to get my sister healthy, her children a Christmas, and to make sure they can continue living.

This is MY FLESH AND BLOOD. I would do absolutely ANYTHING for her.

well it's that time again...no not christmas..that a few weeks off.....it's karaoke time!! i'll be at soco tonight from 9 till 1 or so..so come out to the show....we got a ton of new songs and i might even try auctioning myself off again....might get more then 22cents this time too!!!!

let's see here....the past month has been kinda cool...i finally got to sing lips of an angel last week (YOU ROCK ROB!!!) i have discovered a film director that i absolutely adore...Mr. Tyler Perry. also, i've met alot of really cool people at our shows that have made the weekends tons of fun! unfortunately i haven't had access to a camera and our photoblogger hasn't come to any of my shows recently so i don't have any pix to post in the albums....sorry guys n gals...i'm asking santa for a cheap digicam so maybe i'll be able to hook it up after christmas...well i gotta go get ready to go hang with sissy and the crew at tricky dicks so i'll let ya know how the show was at about 5 when i get home

Goobs was wild with celebrations last night.  We had two birthdays, Ashley and Marty.  Everybody came out to make sure the birthday boy and girl had a great time.  Along with great Karaoke, Ashbree's Interpretive Dance [ with special guest performances by Stacey ] was on hand providing entertainment throughout the night.

Sissy was on hand to make sure the birthday duo got the traditional Off Key Karaoke middle finger birthday salute, and my honey came out and sang a few tunes.

As the night wore on, more people started joining Asbree on the Dace floor as they did their Interpretive Dances.....pretty funny....especially when the guys started joining in.

Lots of pictures were taken last night by several folks, and I've posted a few in the Goobs photo gallery.  As soon as I get the rest from Ashley, I'll post those too.  If anyone else has pictures from last night, please email them to me!

We had planned to continue the birthday bash over at All Stars near Commercial, but after the birthday girl tried to pay her tab several times, after it had already been paid, we figured it was best to end it there at goobs and called it a night. 

Thanks to everyone for coming out and helping us celebrate Ashley and Marty's birthday and don't forget to finish out the weekend tonight with Karaoke at Tricky Dick's in Boca Raton with your host Sissy.

For those of you who weren't at Goob's in Coral Springs last night, you missed out on one HELL of good time! The night was slow going at first, but then got into full swing with around 19 singers and about 75 people hanging out and having a great time! The shots were flowing as well as the music. We had a lot of awesome singers last night! Even Sissy was there! And she was darling enough to do her famous birthday toast to Billy ( Happy Birthday Billy), who was celebraring his 21st birthday for the 7th time.

Anyway, as always we had a blast at Goob's last night, if you haven't come to this show yet, you should definitely come check it out. You never know who or what you'll see! Had a great time, thanks to everyone who came, and I will see you all next week, for Ashley's Birthday!!!!!!
